Amazon has long been known as the business that wants to be thought of as a one-stop shop, delivering customers what they want fast. Well, San Franciscans (and folks in 8 other cities across the country) who have Amazon Prime accounts can now add dinner to their list of items that can be delivered to their door in a timely manner.
Wired reports about Amazon’s foray into the restaurant delivery realm where Prime members can place their order through a Prime Now app and wait patiently for an hour or less while their hot dinners are delivered. And as a Prime member, there is also the bonus of no delivery charge when ordering from one of 117 local restaurants in San Francisco that are participating.
The Prime Now app offers members a wide variety of items other than restaurant delivery. And in an effort to offer the best deal, Amazon promises members that if they see that the online menu shows a higher price for an item they will issue a refund within 24 hours.
Amazon has been slowly rolling out their restaurant delivery option in cities across the country. They are currently offering the service in places like Portland, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Austin. They may or may not offer free delivery indefinitely, but it’s sure to be a perk that lures new members to try Prime.
What do you think of Amazon offering free restaurant delivery to Prime members?
Would you consider using this service if it came to your city?
Absolutely! This would be an awesome perk!
That would be AMAZING!
If I had Prime, I would use it, but I am not sure any restaurants around here would participate, as I live out in the country :) But, sounds like a good addition.
This would be great in our City, we have Amazonians here :)
YES!!!
