Bridesmaids

Finally, a funny movie where women make all the good jokes. Grab your girlfriends and go see Bridesmaids, starring SNL’s Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and a cast of many more ladies who make us laugh.
The Seattle Times calls Bridesmaids “a female-centered ensemble comedy that’s ultimately about the importance and power of friendship. And, yes, it’s funny as hell.”

Jumping The Broom

Staying on the wedding theme, Jumping the Broom, starring Angela Bassett, was recently released about an engaged couple who come from different backgrounds and struggle to make their families mesh.
Michael Phillips from the Chicago Tribune gives Jumping the Broom 3 stars and calls it “a picture that gave me considerable satisfaction, partly because it wears its themes of trust and belief and faith lightly and easily, while taking them seriously.”

Something Borrowed

To top off your wedding movie marathon go see the guilty pleasure Something Borrowed. Based on the best-selling novel by Emily Griffin, it stars Kate Hudson and Ginnifer Goodwin as two engaged gal pals going after the same guy. Bruce Miller of the Sioux City Journal is impressed with Hudson’s performance in Something Borrowed and calls her “a one-of-a-kind treasure, an improved version of her mom, Goldie Hawn.”

Have you seen any of these wedding-themed flicks?

Loved it! Went out to see it with friends, I hardly ever go to the movies and so GLAD to see this one. Great plot too, not just all jokes at all.

My girlfriend and I went and saw Bridesmaids yesterday. This movie was lol funny. We both needed a movie to take our minds off of things and this was the movie to do it.

this was on my must watch list but a friend saw it and said wait till the DVD. She was a little disappointed that the funniest parts were all shown in the commercials. Something Borrowed I'm hoping is really good.

I loved it - and it's definitely not just a "chick flick." Funny to both men and women for sure.

I love Kristen Wiig. She and Tina Fey are the two of the most talented actress/writers to come out of Saturday Night Live. I can not wait to see this movie! It seems like our version of the 'Hangover'. My husband is not at all interested in seeing it though. I'll just have to take to a girlfriend!
