    I usually say "hi girls!" When I see all my girlfriends, or "girls night out". I honestly think it's said as an affectionate way.

    Honestly think it depends on the way it's used. I always say "going out with the girls" , "girlfriends", "girls night", etc. I never think anything of it. It can be used in a negative way as well.
