I don't usually buy art, but on a trip to Quebec City years ago, my husband and I found a pair of incredible ink drawings made by a local artist. These drawings have been on our wall ever since.
My parents started my souvenir collection based on what they could help me to "earn" as a child, and I've been collecting those "pressed pennies" you see in various tourist areas (and now all over) since I was a kid. My dad even brought some back from when he was stationed overseas, which made me feel so special. I have a large collection, and they're in little books that are made for them. I love that they cost very little, take up very little room and are almost everywhere I've visited. As a child I also bought postcards, because they used to be $.25 each... but now they're over a dollar a piece usually! Times have certainly changed...
