I use my cell phone for long-distance calls, but my land-line is how most locals reach me. My internet is connected with my land-line, too, so I intend to keep my land-line for a long time, I hope.

My DD kept asking for a cell phone, I felt she was too young so we had a landline installed for her. With free WiFi popping up just about everywhere, I see no need for my teen to have a cell phone.

I like the option of having a landline phone. It would seem strange to me not to have one in the house.
