My husband passed away last year. Tomorrow would have been our 32nd wedding anniversary. My favorite part of our wedding day was seeing my husband's face light up when he saw me walk down the aisle. I felt so beautiful and so loved. When I got up beside him, he looked at me, smiled, and said, "You look beautiful". What a perfect day with a perfectly wonderful man!

@Autumnkat what a lovely comment. My favorite part of the wedding was that at the end we were married. That is most important thing about the day. Everything else is just a detail. I tell that all of my friends getting married who seem way too frazzled about the "big day". As long as at the end you are married, everything else is just a detail...

I totally agree @didama.. Weddings have just gotten way out of control. People do stress and place way too much importance on the details. Whether or not one has 8-10 attendants, a 5 tiered cake, or that $2,000. wedding gown isn't important........the best thing one takes away from the day is that as day ends, your life as husband and wife is just beginning.

It's so true! Being married was the special part, and it was an added bonus to have all my friends and family there to share it with. Autumnkat - I'm so sorry for your loss. It sounds like you had a truly special marriage.
