I find that I get more weekly and monthly household jobs done when I have a list.

I establish patterns; monday is for phone calls and errands, tuesday is for cleaning, and etc . This is besides everyday housework such as dishes, trash, litter, beds, and recycling.

I find I am more calm and much less stressed if I stay organized. Baskets, colorful folders, anything that helps me stay neat and find things easily - these make life so much more simple. And that leaves more time for fun!

I like to keep my list as a small stack of post it notes with one item each written on them. Then each time I complete something I toss the post it. My list is never larger than a square post it and I never have to re-write.

The best thing i could have ever bought for myself and my family when it comes to keeping up with to-do's is a dry-erase board for the refrigerator. If I notice we're running low on something I jot it down. When we run errands over the weekend, my list is already complete. I have each family member's names on the board. If I need them to do something or have an important date to remember, it gets listed under their name. So simple, cheap and easy system. We erase things as they complete.

I hate all the junk mall laying around so that is the first thing I do is de-clutter the counter or table with mail or papers.
