Time after time I notice folks "not talking" or should I say 'having a personal conversation without electronics. What happened to having dinner, say with the family, and discussing the day's events? Look around...family sitting at a table and everyone is either texting, reading, talking on cellphone, etc. Sad!

I always feel a little sad when I receive an invitation in the mail and the rsvp instructions include an email address. I know that for a lot of people its more convenient to email a response but I don't think there is much debate that a phone call letting the host know that you will attend or won't is so much more personal.

I've noticed--especially with facebook--if there is someone I haven't heard from lately or would like to know what they are up to, I will check their facebook page. Often times, this gives me enough information that I don't feel the need to call up that person and find out personally from them. If I was good friends with someone and learned something about them on their page, I would call to learn more. For me, Facebook has definitely made me spend less time talking to people about stuff.
