"Clean" Eating/Cooking
on Dec 06, 2014
(Read 1190 times | Comments: 7)
When I was growing up it was all about fast food and convenience foods. Over the past few years I've developed digestive issued and now eat as "clean" as I can. I try to buy organic foods and cook most everything so I'm not getting the chemicals and artificial dyes and flavorings. I have noticed an improvement in my health and I just think it is better for my family's health. Have you started (or have been) doing this kind of thing also? Do you have any great recipes or tips?

Hello, I too have gone to a more "clean" way of eating. What foods do you like the most? I find that pre prepping my meals makes it a lot easier, also fresh is always better than boxed, canned, and sometimes frozen.

I also have been switching over to clean eating and cooking. I am even starting to make a lot of things from scratch and keep a pantry stocked full of homemade stuff instead of boxed and canned stuff. I found a couple of good websites to help me with eating better and I have a lot of stuff on my pinterest board that I refer to a lot. 100 days of real food is one website I look at often. I haven't done the pledges yet its a slow transition but i am working on and it hopefully in the new year I get transitioned over completely. I also like eating well. com the have a lot of free recipe books that you can download. Hope this information helps out! Good luck to everyone! I know I will need it-- not for me but my daughter is fighting me on eating healthier- granted she is only 5 but still its going to be a lot of work!

I also eat clean. I like making my own homemade "cream of" soups! You can google a lot of good recipes :)

I've been eating clean for a few years now, too. I found many wonderful recipes and information from my favorite blogger at www.thegraciouspantry.com . Tiffany, the blogger, has lots of delicious ideas for the whole family. One of my favorite desserts, that I made today, are her brownies made from almond butter. Go check it out.

We go to Whole Foods and Trader Joe's as often as we can. We've gone on our clean kicks but sometimes it's just better for me and my boyfriend to eat in moderation. I love finding new snacks/ meals from those places!! It's always more fun and exciting for me when I shop at those organic stores compared to any other store. :]

Eating in moderation is very smart. But you should read labels before buying anything packaged. Another good site for information is NaturallySavvy.com If you can cut back on processed foods and sugars, you're ahead.
