How I Met Your Mother finale

Did anyone else watch the series finale of HIMYM? I was so disappointed! After they spent the whole last season on 2 days, the last hour spanned 10 years. After all that wedding drama and Robin-Barney got divorced?!? And then to kill off the mother so Ted can go back to Robin?!? The tone of the whole series really made you hope for a Happily Ever After. But this was kind of creepy and just sad.

First of all, a big hello to Jersey girl! I'm originally from New Jersey too! I live in the tri state area, so I get back to NJ whenever I can for mostly shopping (hence my screen name) :) As for the HIMYM finale, I loved it. Robin and Barney always felt kind of forced to me, and the relationship of Ted/Robin always felt natural and meant to be (for me). I do agree that killing off "Tracey" did seem contrived. But the ultimate message that "if you mess up the direction you are supposed to take, you'll come back to where you should be at some point down the road" felt right to me. I felt that Ted and Robin's happily ever after was each other. And for him to go back to her doorstep with the blue French horn? Perfect. (And I love the fact that the girl who ultimately changes Barney's life is his baby daughter!) And the closing credits with the clips of each actor from the first episode was perfect.

The show how I met your mother was horrible from the start I kept hoping it would get better. I watched the last couple of shows hoping for a cool ending, what a huge disappointment.

Hi mallgirl (yay jersey!). Good point. I guess in the end, it boiled down to if you wanted Robin-Ted together or not. If you did, the finale was good, if you didn't, then it was disappointing. I liked the baby for Barney too, just wish they had spent more of the last season developing some of these things instead of so much detail on blah this season, and then rushing through the end. But, overall, a show I enjoyed!

Hi jerseygirl! Yeah, I know that some of this season felt rushed, I think it had to do with them wrapping up the show in March instead of May (like most shows). My guess is that it was a network decision that CBS told the producers. Although if they finished the show in May, there would have been some who complained that they were stretching things out. Anyhow, yes, I really enjoyed this show and I found it satisfying and that it WAS a "cool ending!"

Always knew it would be Robin and plot at end was great.
