I'm moving toward getting my nose penetrated however I don't need a colossal stud in my nose, just a little jewel. I was doubting that anyone realized what the extent of the definitive ring they give you is. Likewise, I?m apprehensive regarding the entire thing, so any and all counsel/ information might be amazing. _____________________ make nose pointy

Usually, it's a tiny stud and a lot of places will actually let you choose. You tend to buy the ring that they will pierce into your nose like an earring.

I got my nosed pierced about 7 years ago. I felt the exact way as you. I wanted something very small and dainty. I can't remember the # size but it was the smallest you can get for the initial piercing. Its a teeny tiny little stud that has a cork screw post that keeps it hidden inside the nose. In my opinion, those are the best b/c you will never see anything on the inside :) As far as pain, I would scale it a 6 with 10 being the worst. It was done and over with so fast, but it is your nostril so it does hurt a tad. My eye watered for a min but that was all. Also, the aftercare was super easy and it heals really fast. Being on your face is a constant reminder to clean!!! Good luck with whatever you choose and let me know if you have any other questions!!

I just got my nose pierced back in June along with my teen. My stud is pretty tiny and is in an "L" shape. I think it looks great . ,y only advice to you is if you get a nose pierce make sure you are comfy with it and if you have a deviated septum, get it on the side that the nose is wider. My nose curves a little towards the left and I got my piercing there. I constantly get snots stuck in it and I end up having to push on my left part of my face to breathe at night. Sorry I am bing blunt, but... I also advise you NOT to take aspirin or anything before because you will bleed. My teen was great, no blood but me..bleed like a stuffed pig.

And to add to it, mine was not pierced with a gun like regular earring places. You go to a tattoo place and they have professionals that use sterilized hollow needles. Doesn't take more than five minutes and everyone's pain tolerance varies.

I think it's the same as my Monroe which is a 16 gauge.

Do not get it done with a piercing gun. The way that piercing equipment is sterilized is by autoclave, and piercing guns are unable to be autoclaved so they are not completely sterile! Go to a reputable tattoo/piercing shop (check Yelp for shops in your area). My nose ring is an 18 gauge, but noses are very adaptable and so I can switch between 20 and 18 gauge with no problems. I got mine pierced with a ring, which was kind of large to account for swelling, and then changed it out to a smaller one. I'm sure your piercer can advise you on which stud or ring to start with during healing.

It will be an 18 gauge, the size you get when you first pierce your ears. It hurts but so do lots of other things in life right?
