What is your opinion on the recently passed law (12/2016) "The Consumer Review Fairness Act"?

I want to mention this next bit of info, just in case any of you, aren't yet aware, on Dec. 15th 2016, our then President Obama signed a new law into action. This new law is called "The Consumer Review Fairness Act of 2016". This law gives consumers the right to give an honest review without penalty of anykind. And voids any previously signed and/or agreed upon contract restricting such reviews. Now, while it DOES protect a consumers First Amendment Rights, it does NOT effect a businesses right to take action against defamation or related torts.

It is a catch 22. I think there should be a way to post an honest review. There should be not reaction from the business that can go after that person. If one person does a bad review that isn't justified, then you know based on the other positives reviews. But, if a business deservedly receives many bad reviews then there is a reason. The business should welcome reviews to make their business better. I think more people will not continue to do this though if they are afraid.
