Any disabled moms out there? Would you like to discuss your struggles and joys of motherhood?

Some struggles can be; practicing the patience that we have all been given. In that time when the children don't want to listen or misbehave, and not follow through on their responsibilities. Another struggle can be making the time to sit down and talk with the children about their day after a long day, to show them how much we care and want to listen. But some of the joys can be seeing the good deeds that have been passed on to them from us as parents. That even though it might seem at times that they are not listening they are actually paying attention and will follow their parents footsteps as they are walking through life. Keeping a positive attitude and NEVER loosing HOPE is the key...I BELIEVE that the way we see life will be what we get out of it. *Always remembering and keeping that hope alive for something great to happen, and remembering that with or without a disability your attitude will ultimately either empower you or weaken you.

I am disabled myself. I live with CP. I can walk with crutches. I am glad I had the privilege of being a mom. At times it can be overwhelming being a mom to three children. I decided to be a mom; now I have to push myself to be the best mom I can be.

Thank you for the acknowledgement! It's a struggle that somedays, I can hardly bare. I lost my first piece of lung at 18yrs old, when I was in RN Nursing School. Every year I continued to get worse with large holes (blebs), nodules spreading, and scarring of multiple organs. It wasn't until I monitored my own records that I realized things were being missed. 12 very long years later, I'm finally getting looked at more closely. I'm told my lungs will last another 15yrs, making my little girl about 23 if i should pass. Living with this knowledge, & finding the strength to work and live is a moment to moment nightmare for me. I find joy in the small things, and connecting with people online & sharing my beliefs. I hope to spread awareness of being involved with your healthcare, because the cost can be great.

If both parents or caregivers are on the same page, it works! But if one person says ," you don't have it that bad," or some other degrading remark the children take sides. The statement," this is what I can and can not do," should be respected. I have ms . I can say pregnancy was great, the immune system shuts down so as not to reject the fetus. Do what you can. I changed the baby on the floor with mat or on the bed if balance was a problem. Can't fall from the floor. You will find what works because it's your baby.

I hope and pray you're around a very long time. You are right you have to search and fight for your own treatment
