Knitting Groups

I adore knitting and honestly don't get enough time to knit because I don't have time set aside for it. I have been trying for a while to find a way to look up Knitting groups. Does anyone have any ideas on where to look or how to start your own?

If there's no guild nearby, try online or start a physical group. To meet people, it helps to org a specific quick project (e.g., Project Linus blocks). Get help from someone with a vested interest in knitters: Most LYS have something already going (classes, knitting areas, brag corners). Pick a knitting charity; most have websites with resources; some have affiliated social websites. Your activities (work, church, sports/gym, net surfing): Post a notice/ask around. Your website (crafting or otherwise) might have a forum; start a thread to seek local knitters. Re: not having time to knit: Try NOT setting aside time for knitting. Work a few rows while in the grocery checkout, or on hold on the phone or on the train/bus (if you commute). Seriously, I did 3/4 of this year's stocking stuffers in the office breakroom waiting for tea to steep or my lunch to microwave. (FYI: neckwarmers, fingerless mitts, slippers & caps. NB photocopy your pattern; don't tote the originals!) HTH
