Unfortunately I inherited my dad's hairy-ness. I have hair on my legs, arms, hands, toes, upper lip, even a little bit of sideburns. I hate it! :( I been thinking about getting laser hair removal and have a few questions. is it safe? will I get any scarring? anyone tried it before what where your results and do you recommend it? Thank you

My mom had this done for her chin hairs. She paid over $2000 with results that worked only a little. This is what they say - the first time you go, within that month you get it done three times. Then they tell you that the hair won't come back for another year, and that every year you have to pay $300 for the treatment. If it does come back, go back for another $200 treatment. Bottom line, it doesn't work. $2000 buys a lot of razors. Even after the initial treatments, you still have to pay $300 every year to have the hair removed. It saves time, but I don't think it's worth the price.

I too have got my dad's hairy-ness. I know you asked about laser hair removal but there is an alternative it is a product called the No! No! they sell it at Sephora online. It costs about $200 and reduces hair about 60%. It does take time but it something you should check into to. Hope this is something you would find intresting.

I also have a hairiness problem. Mine is actually caused by a hormonal imbalance. I have a higher than normal level of testosterone for a female. I am a woman in EVERY WAY except for this problem. I just shave my face every morning and I have to admit I just kind of got used to it.

Me too! A better term for it would be laser hair reduction. It doesn't permanently eliminate but it reduces the thickness, and the amount. If you don't go to a reputable place with an experienced nurse doing the procedure it can burn and discolor the skin especially the face. You'll want to ask how long she's been doing it, and look for certificates in the building to make sure they're certified. Lots of places kinda just do it on the side and that's when most problems occur. Honestly, I would do electrolysis on the face and smaller areas because it's permanent. They go in each follicle and deaden it. That's what I'm doing and then using the no! no! on my gorilla legs

i watched a talk show special about that people were scarred for life litteraly. i would do a lot of research on the place/doctor and se how long he has been in bussiness ect. but i am also hairy and i use an unwanted hair bleaching cream. Whatever you feel best with good luck.

Both of my sisters and my mom got laser hair removal because my dad's a doctor and he can do it with no cost. It worked well for them--they don't grow hair anymore where they got it. I'm not sure how much it costs but they seem to like it a lot. I would say if you have the money to spend, go ahead and do it. Hope you find your answer!

The office I work for HAD laser hair removal. Remember I said HAD.....the reason why our office doesn't have this service any longer is because it is costly and doesn't work. I had laser done on three visits and it hurts and burns the skin. If you miss a visit the hair DOES grow back. And the hair never STOPS growing. Sorry, it give you the bad news but if I were you, I would save your money and use a razor.

I'm not extremely hairy, but I had it done on my face for some stragglers that were making me miserable. I even had my eyebrows done (which I later found out that no dr does eyebrows!). It seriously worked in one shot. I would like to go back one more time to seal the deal, but I would highly recommend it. I think it doesn't work if you are extremely hairy or have very coarse hair.

I had laser hair removal done on my upper lip, chin, bikini area and underarms. I am so happy with the results. Yes, it is not complete removal but the reduction is amazing. The fact that I dont have to worry about shaving every time I was to jump in the swimming pool or wear a sleveless top is the best. It was painful the first three sessions, but very tolerable. I will do my legs as soon as I can afford it. It is so worth it.
