Has She Speaks ever evaluated the weight loss programs out there. I am about to start on a plan...does anyone have any suggestions as to which one they think is the best?

Joan, I have been doing this program by Leslie Sansone: www.walkathome.com It is in home walking program that is so much fun to do. I have lost 72 lbs in 8 months. I went from a size 18 to an 8. I am in the best shape of my life. I also follow a portion control diet that she suggest and it made it so easy. I have been able to keep my weight off for 2 years now. She is getting ready to come out with 6 new workout DVDs that will be availble in 300 different Target stors across the Us. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at justamartin@yahoo.com. Good luck on your journey.

Hi I too have been doing the Leslie Sansone walking tapes since January. I have also been doing weight watchers and have lost 13 pounds as of today. I do the weight watchers on line and I never feel deprived because you can eat anything you want as long as you stay within your point allowance. You also earn points by doing the walk dvds. I'm 59 years old and am pleased with my results because it's hard to lose at my age.

Yes I did Jenny Craig a little over a year ago. It was the best thing I ever did! I lost my weight, got active, and have maintained on my own since last May without gaining any! The best part is that I used to have all kinds of stomach aches and gastrointestinal problems. It was so severe I went to a gastro doctor, and tests showed nothing. I lived with this for 5 years. I joined Jenny Craig to lose weight and my gastro problems completely went away on day 2! We eat so many things these days that are so high in fat,and our bodies are not designed for that. Our fast food, packaged food lifestyle is causing obesity and health problems. I learned so much through Jenny Craig, so that I could eat a balanced diet (including prepackaged food) and feel good. Whatever plan you choose, make sure it has this: balance and education. Things like Atkins and Grapefruit diet can hurt your body and make you gain back more. Good luck!

I ADORE the Leslie Sansone DVD's. I particularly like the "Walk off your Hips and thighs" and I do the 3 mile walk with the stretchy band as well. She's a real woman, not a freakishly thin instructor - this is NOT a knock on her body, she looks astonishing - she's motivating and she explains things, and gives great fitness tips and guidance along the way. I get mine at Wal-Mart and I look for new ones every time I visit. These tapes are great when I can't go outside to walk (raining, snowing) and they go so quickly because they are fun. She speaks should review these with members.

I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant and went on a diet monitoring carbs. It worked so well for me. I only gained 5 lbs during pregnancy because I was losing so much in other areas (I was overweight when I got pregnant). You are allowed 30 grams of carbs for breakfast, 60 grams for lunch and dinner, and three 30 gram snacks. No simple sugars at all (candy, pop, that sort of thing), which was hard to get used to, but you can cheat occasionally. Plus doing exercise three to four days a week. After the first couple weeks, I felt SOOOO good, better than I did when I was in high school even, and I was in shape in high school. I've found that this was the only thing that has every worked for me. Good luck!

Joan, have you tried dancing the weight off? Literally! Of course making healthy food choices is top priority, but we sometimes forget that just eating right only gets us so far. We have to keep our bodies active! Plus, when we starve ourselves of our comfort foods, we need to fill that void with something else fulfilling, like a hobby (other than eating.) I started salsa dancing 8 months ago and I joined a local Zumba fitness class, since then I?ve lost 20 pounds of lard and gained 5 pounds of lean muscle. My legs are in the best shape of my life, my butt doesn?t jiggle (as much) and most importantly I feel good about what I?m doing. Dancing releases endorphins, that I didn?t even know existed. Even for those of us that don?t know our left foot from our right, when it comes to dancing a good instructor can get you on the right track. I don?t know where you live but check out our website tampasalsa.com
