Tragedy On The Slopes
The high profile, tragic death of Ms. Richardson has left some to question if laws should be put in place to force people to wear helmets when skiing. It was just 11 years ago that both singer-turned-politician Sonny Bono and Michael Kennedy, son of Robert F. Kennedy were killed in skiing accidents. Both were not wearing helmets.

White House Makes History In Time For National Women's History Month
"The purpose of this Council is to ensure that American women and girls are treated fairly in all matters of public policy," said President Obama. Although this Executive Order only affects Federal agencies, one hopes it will set a positive example for private corporations, local and state governments and education sectors follow.

Dream A Little Dream
About 68 percent believe that dreams can foretell their future while 63 percent said that at least one of their dreams had come true in the past. The study also showed that people were more likely to change their travel plans after having a dream about a plane crash than they would if they had a waking thought about a crash or received warnings from the government.

A New Life After Neglect
A neighbor called police to report possible abuse of a child after seeing a small girl?s face in the window of one of the rooms. Detective Mark Holste described the rescue of Dani after speaking with her mother, Michelle Crockett, and finding Dani in the closet. Holste reported, ?The pile of dirty diapers in that room must have been 4 feet high. The glass in the window had been broken, and that child was lying there, surrounded by her own excrement and bugs.?

For A Job Well Done
Many schools across the country offer incentives to students who perform well on tests as well as teachers who turn out higher scores overall for their class. A school in Dallas, Texas has reported that students who were rewarded scored higher on their SAT and enrolled in college more than those who were not being rewarded. Though this news sounds positive for reward programs, research has also shown that incentives may only work in the short term and have damaging effects in the long term.

Violent Video Game Gets The Boot
The disturbing Japanese game called Rapelay is said to depict mothers and their daughters being stalked, assaulted, and raped. Fox News recently reported on Amazon and eBay dropping the game from their sites. An Amazon spokeswoman told Fox News, "We determined that we did not want to be selling this particular item."

Can Co-Sleeping Be Safe For Baby?
A new study recently released by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) shows a rise in accidental suffocation related deaths of infants who sleep with their parents. According to the study, 315 babies were suffocated when a parent accidentally rolled over them in bed during the years of 2003 and 2004.
