Women Join The Army For Breast Cancer Research
The need for the Avon/Love Army of Women came about due to the difficulties researchers have in finding women volunteers for their breast cancer studies. The recruiting process itself can be very time consuming and prove unsuccessful in the end for scientists. The Army of Women does the recruiting for various research studies and provides a researchers a direct link to volunteers through their website.

Time To Get Our Girls Moving
A worrisome finding from the study however was that the number of girls (especially when they become teens) who stay physically active outside the sporting arena is declining. When measured against adolescent boys of the same age, the girls are only half as likely to be physically active.

Licensed To Drive Slower
A number of the Ford 2010 models will have this standard feature called "My Key", allowing parents to set a maximum speed capacity on the car to 80 miles per hour. This will all be done through a computer chip inside the car key. The key's chip will also have a function that limits the volume on the sound system and continuously reminds the driver if he/she is not wearing their seatbelt.

Think Pink This October
All around the world this month, there will be events taking place to raise awareness and funding for breast cancer. The White House honored breast cancer awareness earlier this month by flipping a switch and turning pink. It was part of a worldwide campaign where more that 200 landmarks agreed to light their structures in pink to represent the color of the cause.

A Few Tricks To Limit the Unhealthy Treats
Don't worry, this doesn't mean you will have to hand out raisins this year. Lisa Flam from the Associated Press recently wrote an article on the topic of obesity and Halloween treats. She says experts agree that indulging in a night of candy eating is nothing to worry about, regardless of a child's weight. But Halloween is a good time to teach children a lesson about portion control by limiting the amount of candy they consume.
