Climate Change Debates Heat Up
We are also seeing environmental activists speaking out on the subject, some making grand gestures to have their voices heard. The Associated Press just reported that a group of activists in London scaled Britain's Parliament building on Sunday holding large yellow signs to draw attention to the issue of climate change.

It is being estimated that in the next 20 years some 30 million men living in China will be unable to find a wife. A recent article from Fox News says the ratio of boys to girls in some areas of China are 130 boys to 100 girls.

Breast Cancer: Earlier Detection Made Simple
One of the most effective ways to treat breast cancer successfully is with early detection and according to researchers this new test will allow doctors to weigh a woman's risk before the breast cancer ever begins. Researchers from the University of Toronto explain the way the test will work, "tiny samples of blood and breast tissue to identify women at risk of breast cancer much more quickly than ever before."

How To Deal With Dave
On the other hand there are many people speaking out that find Letterman's past exploits to be reprehensible and think he should be disciplined by the network. Letterman may not have been married, but he appeared to be in a long term (23 year) committed relationship during the time of the relationships with his staff members. And any time you have someone of authority having sex with his subordinates questions arise over whether work place code of conduct was violated.

There is one organization that understands how far reaching people's words can be on the web. Back in 2007 Collis and Cyan Ta'eed had the idea to create an event called Blog Action Day where bloggers from all different countries would write about the same topic, the environment, on the same day.

All Eyes On Women Next Month
The findings from the study, "The Shriver Report: A Woman's Nation's Changes Everything", will be revealed on the evening news casts as well as three mornings on the Today show. Other media outlets that will participate in the special week of women's coverage will beCNBC, MSNBC, Telemundo, and the website iVillage.

Mackenzie Phillips Opens Up On Oprah
Phillips' new book "High On Arrival" describes a 10 year "consensual" incestuous relationship she had with her father that followed the rape. Friends and family of Mackenzie Phillips have responded to her recent announcement on both sides of the fence, some stand behind her and feel she is telling the truth while others claim these are false allegations she is making about John Phillips.

A Question Of Gender
Semenya is now going through further gender tests before officials decide if they should strip her of her medals and her right to run as a woman. The official final results have not yet been revealed, but an article from theAFP quotes Chuene responding to questions about the pending gender tests. Chuene says, "No one has seen the reports. We have learnt in the media that she is a hermaphrodite."

Is It Your Legal Right To 'Shoot The Bird' In Public?
According to American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) legal director Witold Walczak, "The law is clear that people have the constitutional right to use profanity, especially when it comes to government officials, because that is a form of political speech. But despite that, we have police officers regularly misapplying the law to punish people who offend them - that's really what it comes down to."
