My kids are counting down to the end of the school year. They dream of long days playing outside, swimming in the pool, and yes, lots of Xbox.
I look forward to three months without fights over homework or permission slips to sign. But I also dread long days with my kids just staring at screens and whining, "Mommy, I'm bored."
Which is why we need to work together. Calling all SheSpeaks moms, grandmas or anyone who has ever been a kid themselves!
Share ways to keep kids busy over the summer. They can be big plans or little projects. They can be for big kids or little ones. All ideas will help! Anyone who gives a suggestion will be entered to win a set of 5 Outdoor Games, perfect to occupy your kids' time.

"My 15- year old is most likely watching entirely too much Netflix! She will take a week to do a service trip with her youth group. " - Missy

My son loves being outside so when the weather is too hot he will have a great time just running through a sprinkler.
We have a 33 foot camper only a couple years old and have it placed at a seasonal camp. Last year was our first year at this camp and we loved how focused they were on having a great fun structured program for the children. The girls are so excited to go back this year ! From water bounce houses, salt water pool, fresh water lake to daily activities from 8-3 for the children and great fun for the adults plus all the family group activities. Truly is a wonderful way to spend the summer.
The grandkids always come to our house, especially in the summer months because Nana knows how to keep them busy. We have an above the ground pool, where we enjoy popsicles, squirt guns & pool floats, water baloons, sidewalk chaulk, sandbox. I take them to the zoo, Summer Reading events at our library, to VBS and we love to go to the park to play at the playground.
Keeping kids busy with reading and outdoor activities. I teach swim lessons so that kids stay safe near the pool during summer.
We fill our summers with any outdoor activity we can think of: beaches, zoos, hiking trails, nature trails, walks, parks, pools, family backyards, and even chalk-drawing in the driveway!
Going to camps and reading a lot!
I fill up the long summer days with water balloon fights with the kids.
I always have fun with the kids of any age by keeping a supply of bubbles on hand. Everybody can relax and blow away! Also I have all of the devices to go with them!
We will take our pre schooler to the zoo and teach him to swim at the YMCA this summer! Not to mention playing outdoor soccer and lots of outdoor playing in the yard!
We have a rather large garden, and my girls and I get out there and plant, weed, learn, and grow. We pick fresh and cook great recipes the same day.
I have 6 grandchildren ages 2-12. I could use some great ideas how to keep them busy
I'm a stay at home mom so I have all day with my boys (2 months, 3, and 8) so we'll be taking lots of beach trips, parks and zoos, and spending a lot of time out back by the pool.
camping in the back yard!
My kids love playing in the sprinkler! We also LOVE doing anything crafty! Making slime is also at the top of the list for when they're bored!
Reading and laying by the pool!
