A video game that was recently being sold on reputable websites like Amazon and eBay gives new meaning to what would be considered inappropriate for both children and adults. The disturbing Japanese game called Rapelay is said to depict mothers and their daughters being stalked, assaulted, and raped.
Fox News recently reported on Amazon and eBay dropping the game from their sites. An Amazon spokeswoman told Fox News, “We determined that we did not want to be selling this particular item.” Amazon had reportedly been selling a few “like new” copies of the game before it was removed. The Japan based company that created the game is called Illusion Studio and also sells a video game series entitled Battle Raper and Battle Raper 2.
World Net Daily (WND) also reported on the removal of the rape simulating game. According to reviews and descriptions of Rapelay WND reports pregnancy and abortion are focused on throughout the game. Characters are punished if after raping a woman they decide to keep the baby rather than aborting it. The main character has somehow escaped from prison in order to stalk and rape women and young girls. The male character is said to take photographs of his victims after assaulting and raping them.
Though the game has now been removed from both eBay and Amazon, Newsday reports that Rapelay is still being sold on smaller gaming websites. New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault have called on all U.S. video game distributors to refrain from selling the game.
This is really disturbing. I'm a 20 year old female that plays some video games, little big planet, resident evil and other random things. I don't know what is wrong with some people that this type of game would even be created. I believe video games should be happy, fun types of entertainment...not teaching or showing the stalking or raping of anybody. They think in entertainment "sex sells" but frankly a lot of things step over the line - the this. People are always so horrified when rape occurs, or when children get hurt but they let companies make games like this. If the game types like this don't sell they won't be made. I think we have it in our power to stop things like this from being produced because they won't make profit.

I agree, this "game" crosses a line. I also agree that parents need to be aware of what their children are doing. My husband is a gamer and, for that, I am glad. I don't think I could personally keep up with everything but I know I have him to watch out and make sure our children don't play anything completely inappropriate.

This is just so sad. Truly sad! And we wonder what makes those whom do this think about this stuff. It is like we are feeding them information, tatics, and know-how as to how and when to do these horrible things. I feel sick to my stomach just knowing of this!
To those whom make such games, you need to have therapy or perhaps be locked up. This is just so very WRONG!

Why, Why, is this even allowed to be a game? These things should not be a "GAME". None of this is a "GAME" How do we stop these things from even becoming a "GAME". We are letting more and more sick stuff out into society like it is nothing. Let the victims of rape, crime, etc. give there opinion on this. My wish is we would not allow these things to become just a casual thing. This is the road we are taking. STAND UP and unite against this.

What the hell are people thinking?!!!!!! Who in the right mental state of mind would buy, play, sell, or make this kind of video game! I think that who ever made it, or who ever made it to be ok to sell in the states should be punnished or SAVERLEY fined!!! This is a outrage!!!!!! This is wrong and repulsive and just sick! people who bought this game should be recorded and watched! People who have bought or played this game must have some sick fanticy of doing something like this or why would they have bought this in the first place!??? Why would someone buy this game if they were mentaly right? THEY WOULDNT! Fine them-fine the people who bought it or have it! something elce needs to be done other then just stopping the sale on websites and selling in the US! They need to be punnished!
