Linda Grant is the Founder and Editor of NYC Single Mom.Com, ™ a lifestyle site that provides moms of all stripes with parenting tips, dining, travel and of course, New York City centric events. As a family lifestyle and parenting (especially adoptive parenting) expert, blogger, and brand advocate, Linda shares her in-depth knowledge to provide valuable information and useful products to her readers that will assist them in managing everyday dilemmas.

From the title, you can guess that Linda is a single mom by choice (through adoption) of a lively tween age girl. Since 1996, they have lived in downtown Manhattan where she spends her days navigating the frenetic life in New York City from school, to work to motherhood. While she currently lives in New York, she has been lucky enough to live abroad including Florence, Italy, Japan (where she was born) and Archamp, France (while attending Thunderbird, The Garvin School of International Management) as well as travel extensively throughout Europe and Asia.

Linda wears two hats; during the day she is a marketing executive and by night, the Editor of NYC Single Mom. Linda previously was the Editor for BrooklynMamas.com as well as a contributing Kidzvuz.com writer.

Linda told us,“While I started out blogging to learn about social media for work, the result is that I not only discovered a hidden creative outlet but have met and become friends with so many amazing women (and men) bloggers that I would have never met in my day job.”

We caught up with Linda to find out about her life, and here is what we found out, in her own words.

Where you can find me: Twitter - Facebook - Pinterest - Instagram - Google +

$PullQuote$I live in... Downtown Manhattan.

My niche is... Tween parenting, entertainment, technology, travel and family centric products.

I started blogging in...2009 after I was laid off as a way to enhance my marketing skills to learn about social media.

I write when... I am clear-eyed which means I write in the morning before work but inspiration on topics can come at any time. That’s right, I get up around 5 am and write or schedule tweets and respond to emails.

How blogging changed my life: As a marketing professional, I began blogging to learn about social media but along the way, I discovered I love to write. But while I have experienced some pretty amazing opportunities and interviewed a slew of celebrities, I am most thrilled that I have met some amazing friends through blogging.

How I see the future of social media: Social Media is not going away, if anything it is going to be more ingrained in our daily lives. It’s exciting and scary to see what the future will bring. The scary part is for us, as parents, how to ensure our kids use it responsibly and are not harmed by it.

Brands I have loved working with: All things Disney from Walt Disney Parks, Disney Entertainment and Disney Digital come to mind but certain toy brands I love and are incredible to work include Razor and Hasbro. Children’s Place has been a dream to work with, it was a sad day when my daughter outgrew the brand.

I do all my shopping: Amazon, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Target, Best Buy and Ann Taylor.

My favorite clothing brand is: Ann Taylor because it fits my lifestyle from work to weekend.

Where I work: My dining room table because I live in a small one bedroom New York city apartment. I did buy a desk but it oddly didn’t suit how I work so it’s just a big filing cabinet.

When I'm stressed, I: Go to the movies or for a mani/pedi.

My favorite gadget is? My iPhone 6+ (and for the record I waited out the 5 series for the larger size and upgraded from a 4S).

My favorite travel destination is? Paris.

My favorite TV shows: Sleepy Hollow, Scandal, How to Get Away With Murder, Blackish and The Daily Show

My favorite movies: All John Hughes movies, The Empire Strikes Back, Star Trek – the original and the J.J. Abrams reboot.

Coffee or tea: Coffee

I love.. My daughter and the rest of my family, of course.
