November is National Epilepsy Awareness Month and the Epilepsy Foundation is asking everyone to Get Seizure Smart.

Some of you may know that my family has been impacted by epilepsy for several generations. It seems that the severity of Epilepsy has increased with every new family member diagnosed with this disease. This is a silent disease that can be very dibilitating if not treated. 

Please help me and the National Epilespy Foundation spread information to help educate the general public.

There is a "30 Days 30 Ways" campaign for the month of November. We are mid way through but there is still time to pitch in,  just pick one of the items below to do and you can help!

November 16

Ask a local merchant to include the Get Seizure Smart quiz www.GetSeizureSmart.org in every bag that leaves the store.

November 17

Distribute the quiz to your local fire department and police station. 

November 18

Send a text to all of your friends asking them to take the quiz at www.GetSeizureSmart.org.

November 19

E-mail everyone in your office and ask them to take the quiz at www.GetSeizureSmart.org.

November 20

Post 10 quizzes on local bulletin boards (e.g., your gym, library, grocery store, etc.)

November 21

Share the PSA with all of your e-mail contacts.

November 22

Ask your local pizza place to put the quiz on every outgoing pizza box.

November 23

Take a photo of yourself with your Get Seizure Smart certificate and post it to the Epilepsy Foundation’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/epilepsyfoundationofamerica).

November 24

Ask your government officials (legislators, mayor, governor, etc.) to take the quiz at www.GetSeizureSmart.org.

November 25

Post the www.GetSeizureSmart.org link on your social media sites telling your friends how you are helping America Get Seizure Smart.

November 26

Ask your child’s teacher to give the Get Seizure Smart quiz in class.

November 27

Distribute the quiz to school nurses and health teachers in your school system.

November 28

Ask your doctor’s office to place copies of the Get Seizure Smart quiz in their waiting room.

November 29

Ask your child’s school to put the quiz in in every student’s backpack.
