Don't Miss These Seven Summer Must-See Movies & A #SheSpeaksMovieTix Gift Card Giveaway!

Lazy summer days are right around the corner. But since not every day can be a day at the beach, summer movies will be here to amuse and entertain. There are so many winners this year, it's hard for us to know where to begin. But, here are just a few of the summer movies on our must-see list.

What movies do you want to see? Tell us for the chance to win a $50 movie ticket gift card giveaway!

Wonder Woman (June 2)

Summer wouldn’t be summer without a big blockbuster movie based on a comic book. And a movie featuring one of the biggest superheroes of all time, who happens to be a woman, has us all collectively saying, “it’s about time!” Starring Gal Gadot, Wonder Woman will focus on the superhero's origin story and what brought her to realize the extent of her super powers. Fans can be sure that this is just the beginning for this franchise, so sit back and enjoy the show. [Note: For a bonus chance to get tickets to see Wonder Woman, click here!]

Rough Night (June 16)

Judging by previews, this one looks somewhat like The Hangover with women. It’s got some really great comic heavy hitters like Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell, and Broad City’s Ilana Glazer. Scarlett Johansson and Zoe Kravitz also prove they don’t take themselves too seriously by co-starring in this movie about a girl’s trip that goes hilariously wrong. From partying in Miami to accidentally murdering a male stripper, it’s pretty obvious that this won’t be a typical weekend away for these five friends.

Despicable Me 3 (June 30)

Summer break for kids means lots of chances to make a rainy day trip to the movies and given the Despicable Me track record, the third installment is sure to be a hit. Lovers of this franchise will be delighted to hear that the storyline of Despicable Me 3 will see Gru (voiced by Steve Carrell) meet his more charming, upbeat and successful twin Dru (also voiced by Steve Carrell). And of course, sibling rivalry ensues. Trey Parker will also turn up as the voice of Balthazar Bratt, an aging ex-child superstar villain bent on... what else, world domination.

Girls Trip (July 21)

Planning a girls night out? Girls Trip could be perfect. The premise alone of four friends (Regina Hall, Jada Pinkett Smith, Tiffany Haddish, and Queen Latifah) traveling to New Orleans to attend a music festival with dancing, drinking and igniting romances along the way sounds like just the thing for a group of friends to enjoy together.

The Book of Henry (June 16)

If you’re looking for something with a little more substance and some dark layers to peel away, The Book of Henry may be right up your alley. Centering around a single mom (played by Naomi Watts) and her 11 year old son, viewers get a glimpse into the life of a very precocious child and the lengths a mother and son will go to in order to help a neighbor.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul (May 19)

Want a family movie that will have you laughing and also satisfy your picky tween? The latest Wimpy Kid movie promises to be one of those fun road movies the whole family can enjoy. The Heffleys set out on a road trip to attend Greg’s Meemaw’s 90th birthday bash, but of course Greg has other plans. In an attempt to get to a video game convention and become famous, Greg takes the family on a trip they won’t soon forget.

The House (June 30)

Got a date night coming up? Leave the kids at home with a sitter for this hilarious R-rated comedy starring legends Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler. Picture this: your daughter gets into the college of her dreams, but unfortunately you don’t have the money to make her dreams come true - what’s a parent to do? Well, one idea is to start up an illegal underground gambling casino in your basement. This is precisely what average parents played by Ferrell and Poehler get themselves into in The House. Their antics are sure to make even the best poker faces crack a smile.
