The biggest drama coming from this year’s MTV Video Music Awards was not a wardrobe malfunction, nor was it a lip synch gone wrong or an overzealous performer hogging the spotlight. No, the biggest attention draw coming from this year’s VMA’s happened when Beyonce simply placed her hand on her stomach, showing the world she’s pregnant!
The Daily Mail reports that Beyonce’s now legendary baby bump reveal was enough to break Twitter records, with 8,868 tweets occurring per second at around 10:35 EDT.
The Twitter influx happened just after Beyonce ended her performance of Love on Top, opened her sequined tuxedo jacket and commenced the belly rub. The camera then turned to hubby, Jay-Z, who was utterly bursting with pride on the sidelines as Kanye West gave him multiple congratulatory pats on the back.
Beyonce’s new Twitter record goes above and beyond the last one set during the Women’s World Cup Finals – which saw 7.196 tweets per second. And Twitter is not the only place Beyonce’s baby bump broke records. Sunday night’s VMA’s had a bigger audience than ever before with reports of 12.4 million viewers.
It is not surprising that baby news from the music world’s royal couple is receiving so much attention. Fans everywhere have awaited this news since the two secretly married in 2008.
And now as the world awaits baby pics, reports of what he/she will look like are already circling the web. TMZ recently released a digital photo created by a forensic artist that imagines what the baby will look like if it is a boy.
